What Is a Minotaur?
The Minotaur is a legendary creature from Ancient Greek mythology with the body of a human and the head of a bull. It is one of the best-known monsters in Greek legends and is famous for living inside the enormous Labyrinth built beneath the island of Crete.
According to mythology, the Minotaur was feared because of its incredible strength and fierce nature. King Minos ordered the creature to be imprisoned inside the maze, where it remained for many years until the Greek hero Theseus entered the Labyrinth to confront it.
